Dr. Edward Rubinchik, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist serving the residents of New York City at Medex Diagnostic & Treatment Center in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Queens. He’s also recognized as a member of the American Medical Association, New York State Ophthalmological Society, and Kings County Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Rubinchik began his education with a Bachelor of Science in chemistry, which he received from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts, in 1989. Then, he moved to New York to attend medical school at the State University of New York Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, graduating in 1993.

He continued his education with an internship in internal medicine at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan, and focused on emergency medicine for his residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in Queens. Finally, he delved into the world of ophthalmology during a second residency at the Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn. There, he was named resident of the year in 1995 and became chief resident in 1998.

Since completing his education, Dr. Rubinchik has served the ophthalmological needs of New Yorkers in several hospitals around the state. For 20 years, he specialized in small incision cataract surgery and laser vision correction at Reich Medical Center and Surgical Eye Care, LLC, in Brooklyn.

Over the course of his career, he’s conducted research focused on traumatic eye injuries in high-crime areas and been part of multiple studies on the management and prevalence of glaucoma. Today, he offers a variety of cutting-edge treatments for eye conditions at Medex Diagnostic & Treatment Center.
